Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the national supercomputing center in Spain. BSC-CNS specializes in HPC and manages MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.
A BSC-CNS team, in collaboration with Intel, is using Intel® Optane™ persistent memory in App Direct mode. The project is to build a new software ecosystem around byte-addressable persistent memory to accelerate HPC applications while enabling more power-efficient supercomputers.
